Breathizen is swallowed, not inhaled — read this first

Breathizen is an oral spray. Four pumps go into the mouth and are swallowed; nothing in the bottle enters your airway or lungs. It cannot open an airway, it is not a rescue inhaler, and it must never be used in place of an inhaler, prescribed asthma or COPD medication, or oxygen therapy. Breathizen's own published material states the same. If you are struggling to breathe, use your prescribed reliever and seek urgent medical help.

Breathing symptoms need a doctor

Shortness of breath, a persistent or worsening cough, wheezing, unexplained chest pain and reduced exercise tolerance can have many causes, and some are serious. Do not use Breathizen, or any supplement, in place of having a breathing symptom assessed, and do not delay assessment while trialling a product.

Ingredient cautions and interactions

Breathizen's per-ingredient amounts are undisclosed, which makes these cautions harder to judge from the label:

• Ginger and bromelain can both affect bleeding and may interact with anticoagulants such as warfarin; bromelain may also interact with some antibiotics. Stop before surgery and tell your surgical team.
• Bromelain is derived from pineapple — avoid with a pineapple allergy.
• Cordyceps has limited safety data at higher intakes; caution with immune-modulating medication and autoimmune conditions.
• Green tea extract, which appears on the seller's ingredient list but not the brand's, contains caffeine.

Consult a pharmacist before combining Breathizen with any prescription medication.

No per-ingredient amount is published for Breathizen; the label declares a single 154 mg blend total. The page selling the product lists seven ingredients where the brand's own release lists five.
